24th National Juried Show

June 3 - 27, 2008

Awards: $600 Best of Show, $400 First Place, $200 Second Place, $50 Third Place/ Philip G. Paratore, Jr. Memorial Award, and Honorable Mention merchandise and book awards. Acceptance into three (3) NSA National Juried Shows earns the artist Signature Membership in NSA.

06/01/08 Sunday Judging for awards. Winners notified by phone.
06/03/08 Tuesday Show opens.
06/07/08 Saturday Jurors critique from 1:00-2:00 pm.
06/07/08 Saturday Awards & Gala 2:00-4:00 pm.
06/27/08 Friday Last day of show.
06/28/08 Saturday Pick up hand delivered work between 10:00am & 2: 00 pm.


Juror: Glen Bahm has an extensive background in art. Born in Louisiana, he earned a BA in Fine Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University and has studied in major museums in the United States and Europe. Having experienced a variety of art forms, Mr. Bahm focuses mainly on oil painting which he has been doing for 60 years. Over 500 portraits done by Mr. Bahm can be found in all parts of the United States, as well as many landscapes, still lifes, abstracts, and sculpture. Eclectic in his approach, his style reflects the Old Masters combined with Modern Masters.

Now residing in Houston, Mr. Bahm continues to paint and enjoys judging shows.

Entries:
CD's or slides will be accepted as entries. Please mark each slide on the back as follows: indicate the correct orientation of the work of art by placing an up arrow in the upper right corner; print the title in the upper left corner; print the medium in the lower left corner; and print the framed size below that. Entries will be numbered, so your name is not required on the slide. CD's & slides of work not accepted will be returned with both acceptance and rejection notifications. Put similar information on the CD with a CD pen.

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all artists. Work that has been shown in a previous NSA National juried Show may not be entered again.
• Photography and computer generated art (printed on paper only) and original works in all media accepted.
• Works must have been completed in the last three years. No Giclees of originals accepted.
• Library will not accept artwork of nudes.
• This year we will not be accepting sculpture as there is no display room.
• Minimum size is 5"x7" unframed; maximum is 48"x48" including the frame. All diptych and triptych works must be entered as separate entries unless they are physically connected and hang as one unit
• All two dimensional works must be installation ready, with mat, frame or finished edge, plexiglass and wired for hanging where appropriate. No glass or saw tooth hangers allowed.
• Attach filled out artwork information label on back to upper left corner of the artwork.
• All artwork must remain for the duration of show.
 

Entry Fee & Expenses:
• $30 for the first 2 entries; $10 for third; total limit of 3 (3=$40).
• For shipping fees, the artist has the additional expense of insurance and freight charges, plus a $20 handling fee. It is required that you ship your art work prepaid return. Detailed information will be sent with acceptance form. Please do not use peanuts for packing your artwork.
• A 20% tax deductible donation will be expected for sales made as result of this show.
 

Liability: The National Society of Artists and the Freeman Library at Clear Lake will take all possible precautions with artwork submitted to this show but will not assume any responsibility for loss, damage, or theft resulting from this show. Any work that is not securely assembled, or that is improperly labeled, or that is otherwise unsuitable for display will not be shown. In such an instance, the entry fee will not be refunded. Submission of work and payment of entry fees shall imply agreement with all conditions stated in this prospectus. No sales tax will be collected; artists are responsible for paying any sales tax due.

- Completed entry form (Link below).
- Self-addressed stamped envelope large enough for return of slides and/or CD.
- Check or money order payable to NSA
